So here’s a time when I literally put something out into the universe or well… my neighborhood and the universe/neighborhood totally had my back. At the beginning of the summer I mentioned to Derek that I really wanted to create some sort of outdoor eating set up for the season. Our summer is so brief and wonderful that I wanted to spend as much time outside as possible. We are fortunate enough to have a pretty good sized backyard that is surrounded by trees that make it private. SO for some reason Derek tells this to our neighbor when he’s walking to work one day. Next day- I’m walking, same neighbor tells me that a different neighbor was at a third party neighbor’s home and they need to get rid of a patio table. It went back through that chain that someone in the same vicinity wanted a table (me) and that they should leave it in their backyard. Their backyard is just through the trees from my backyard so one afternoon I just rolled it through. THEN a different neighbor sees I have a table with no chairs. His wife is trying to get rid of four patio chairs. Do I want them? Yes. Do I want said neighbor with wife to drive the chairs over in his truck? Why yes yes. Did I mention I love my neighbors?
I added a coat of paint to the chairs and threw on some pillows for color and comfort. We love having this space to sit outside and I’m glad we still have at least another month and a half to enjoy it. Here’s a before and after and me doing my best “home and garden’s” mock-shoot.
