One of my favorite winter traditions is putting together our hot chocolate bar. This is a very inexpensive project, especially when considering how much it adds to our whole holiday experience. Also, creating a decorative piece out of items we would be holding in our cupboard anyway gives me a kind of DIY-thrifty-girl thrill. I found most of these items at Goodwill. During the holidays they always have a large selection of holiday mugs, unique jars, and other nicknacks that work well for this. The actual tray I scored in the clearance aisle of Home Goods. In the jars we put the coco mix, crushed candy canes, marshmallows, and marshmallows dipped in brown and white chocolate. I had so much fun dipping the marshmallows in chocolate and assembling this with Julian. He has loved decorating for the season. While looking around our living room the other day he told me that, “We have most of the decorations up, but I’m thinking we need more…details…”. I’m so glad to have him to celebrate these details.
Thank you Julian for being so patient and letting me get a picture of the Santa Mug.
