You guys. just when I thought summer and the sun couldn’t get any better. It throws a LAVENDER FIELD at me. Recently I had heard news of a lavender field in Maine that was opening up to the public and only about 3o minutes from my house. No it wasn’t a dream. A lavender field… in MAINE… near ME. I convinced Julian and my friend Kate (it didn’t take much) to visit yesterday after reading that the lavender was currently at peak. You’ll find Moore Manor at 302 Stetson Road in Newport Maine. It was a sweet little farm with the lavender in the back, sitting areas, and a small open store toward the beginning where they sold different lavender products. You could also cut your own lavender for $5 a bundle which Julian really enjoyed. He said happily like he felt like he was working on a farm. He also got to use “big grown up scissors” so theres that. I purchased a dried bundle, Julian’s picked bundle, and a jar of organic lavender buds with instructions on how to DIY lavender sugar. It was a photographer’s dream to get to snap some photos while walking and taking in the place. The owner said she wanted to share it because it was just so refreshing to experience and I’m so glad she did. It’s open tomorrow (7/7/17) and the next day. She said it will be open next week as well, and the lavender at that point will be mostly harvested and hung to dry outside and displayed for visitors to view. I hope you get the chance to go! I’m so glad I did.
Would you look at Julian all busy, hunched over at work? I can’t handle.
